That is it folks. Those pictures contain less than half of the show basically whatever caught my eye. Hopefully next year I, and maybe my girlfriend if I can sway her to our side, will have a car in the show.

I heard it drive by shortly after leaving. It sounds as insane as it looks. Especially with the sound bouncing off the walls of the city.

Gawd I wish the rat rod trend would go away. Then the talented builders can spend time making something that shows what they can really do-rather than welding whatever piece of metal they found in a field on to a crappy car-and then spend time MAKING it get rusty.

I think th Rat Rod trend shows what talented builders can do far better than the thirty million cookie cutter show cars that already exist ever could. It shows their skills for hunting down the rare or unheard of parts and assembling them in a fashion either unheard of or in a different way than anybody else has before. We have gone from an era where almost every built car looks like a slight variation to one where you never know what is going to come next. Plus, the rat rod trend offers something the show car one did not: a lower entry fee.

I remember when I saw a rat rod for the first time at a car show. At the time I didn’t get it. I get it now. Rat rods have to be seem as works of art, and not as a car that needs to be driven, and enjoyed. Nice show btw.

I would have to agree on that. They have to be the perfect assembly of parts in just the right fashion. I've seen plenty of them done wrong, but when one is done right it is amazing.

That was the best part of it. The area where they had the motorcycles and concert stage is normal kind of an odd art gallery. I guess the whole thing kind of had that rockabilly/hipster vibe to it. It was refreshing to be at one where you can see fresh, expensive paint jobs next to a rust bucket with a massive engine.

One could probably make it worthwhile. If it was on Saturday I would say one could go there and then the Indy 500.
